Recipe
100g (4oz) suet
50g (2oz) flour
100g (4oz) raisons
100g (4oz) sultanas
50g (2oz) currants
50g (2oz) mixed peel
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon mixed spice
100g (4oz) sugar
100g (4oz) breadcrumbs
25g (1oz) ground almonds
2 eggs
Grated zest of lemon or orange
Wineglass of brandy
2 tablespoons milk
Method
Mix all the ingredients together.
Add the liquid and mix well.
Place into a greased basin and cover with greased greaseproof paper.
Steam for 6 - 8 hours.
Serve with cream, rum or brandy butter sauce.
