Oven Baked Risotto Carbonara

Chocolate Butterflies


  • 50g (2oz) self raising flour
  • 50g (2oz) butter or margarine
  • 50g (2oz) castor sugar
  • 1 dessertspoon cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • A few drops of vanilla essence


  • 35g (1.5 oz) butter
  • 100g (4oz) icing sugar
  • 2 teaspoons hot milk
  • A few drops of vanilla essence


  • Cream the butter until soft, add the sugar abd beat until light and fluffy
  • Add the egg with a tablespoon of flour
  • Beat in the milk and add the essence and a little more of the flour
  • Add the cocoa and add the rest of the flour
  • Place mixture into the baking cases, half fill them
  • Bake in a moderate oven for 15-20 mins
  • For the filling, cream the fat until soft and add the icing sugar
  • Add the milk and essence and mix until smooth
  • When the cakes are cool, cut a circle from the top of the cakes
  • Place a spoonful of filling in each cake
  • Cut the tops in half and place on the filling rounded edges outwards.
